Name of app: gFlashPro
Age: All Ages
Platform: iPod, iPhone or iPad
Whenever I need to memorize facts or anything else, I usually use flashcards. I used to make flashcards out of note cards, but now there is this cool new app which I use. It is called gFlashPro. gFlashpro is really easy to use and totally worth the money.
When you first open the app, a list of the flashcard sets which you already created pops up. To make a new set, you have to hit the “add” button at the bottom left corner.
Then a list of five choices will pop up. Select the first choice, which is called “gFlashPro Editor”.
A title box will appear. In there, you have to write the title of your flashcard set. In this example, I called my note card set Multiplying Numbers.
To create a card, hit the “add card” button at the bottom of the screen. Two cards will appear. There will be a top one and a bottom one. The top card is where you will have to write the question, while the bottom card is meant for the answer.
In this example, my question was “2x2 is equal to...”. Then, hit “Save” which is right above the keyboard. To write the answer, repeat the same steps. Tap the bottom box and write the answer to the question you wrote earlier. I wrote “4”
The first card is done! To add a card, hit the “back” button at the bottom.
Then, hit the “Add Card” button at the bottom of the screen. Once again, you can write your question on your card. To make more cards, repeat the same steps. Once your whole card set is done, you can quiz yourself. To do that, go back to the home page of the app.
Once you’re there, you just have to hit the note card set which you want to use. Since my example is named Multiplying Numbers, I hit the set named Multiplying Numbers.
The first question will pop up. Just answer the question and then tap the answer to see if it’s correct. If it is correct, tap the “I Know It!” button at the very bottom. If your answer is not correct, tap the “Don’t Know” button which is next to the “I know it!” button. The application will then record what questions you know and which one’s you don’t know. When you’ve completed the set, you can take a quiz.
Once the quiz is completed, the app will tell you what your score is.
The app gFlashpro costs $3.99. It is definitely worth the money, because once it’s bought, it can always be used for any topic.
Overall I think this app is really useful. There are many more parts and sections to this app which I did not explain above. These sections sometimes get confusing because there are so many. The creators of this app could work on making the app easier to read and use. Despite this flaw, I think that gFlashpro is really useful and that it could help countless people. It doesn’t matter if you’re a first grader trying to learn the alphabet, a student in high school who needs to know many facts for a quiz, or a 60-year old person who needs to learn the names of your grandchildren. This app can be used and enjoyed by people of all ages.
