Introduction:
gFlashPro is a very easy and efficient tool to use once you learn how to work it. There are many different ways you can use this app. For example, you are able to edit sets, add card sets from various places(gFlashPro editor, Google Docs, gWhiz Catalog, Study Stack, and Quizlet),study options, display options, and card options. This app also supplies you four sample card sets in order to get started. This app works great for me because using flashcards is a great way to memorize lines from a script, or just in order to study. I’ll be using the Ipod touch/iPhone version of this app.
The app is organized so that you have four sample card sets already applicable for you to use. This is very convenient because it shows you how the app works before you make your own set of flashcards and it has a set of flashcards for learning how to use this app. Also, when you open the app, the front page gives you many different options for using this app.
By clicking the first tab on the left, it gives you an option of adding card sets. This is very easy to use because it gives you five ways to create a new card set. I find this very convenient because if you are not able to use one of the options to make a set of flashcards, you still will have four other options to choose from.
The next two tabs to the right are delete and edit. The delete app is a good tool to have because if you have finished a unit and no longer need a set of flashcards you can just delete it. Also, the delete tool allows you to delete flashcards if you messed up or if you do not need them. The edit tool is nice to have because it gives you options for editing flashcards. It gives you different options for editing so that there are many ways for you to make your flashcard sets even better and easier to use.
Another two useful tools on this app is to edit sets and to edit lists. By clicking on edit sets, you are able to edit it, combine sets, or split sets. This is useful because it allows you to either out sets of flashcards together or split them apart. For editing lists, you are able to add a group, arrange a list, hide details or change your background. This is a good tool to have because it allows you to arrange different things. While you are using a set of flashcards it gives you an option of either clicking check if you knew the answer, or an X if you do not know the answer to the question displayed on the flashcard. This is a great tool to have because it allows you to later look back on what you did or did not know and can help you to figure out what you need to study more on.
Lastly, the app gives you your score on how many you got correct and incorrect. Once you are done using this tool to study, it gives you the percentage of what you scored. This helps you to know what you would have gotten if you were to take the test and if you need to study more.
Pricing: This app is free, so anyone of any age can buy this app, but I would recommend it for an elementary student or a high school student.
Conclusion: It would help for the app developers to make the app easier and more accessible on google docs because there are a few steps students have to take in order to make flashcards on this tool. Also, the app is very confusing at first to use so it would be easier to use if it had a users guide tab on the app, instead of having a users guide flashcard set.
Even though there are a few downsides to this app, I would most definitely recommend it to students in elementary school or high school. It is a great tool to use for studying and once you figure out how to use it, it becomes very efficient and easy to use. Instead of having to carry around a big stack of paper flashcards, you can just take out your iPhone, iTouch, or iPad and quiz yourself anywhere on-the-go.
