EVERNOTE By: MKL

App Review
3.9.11

1.
~ App Title: Evernote
~ My Initials: MKL
~ Date: 3.9.11
~ Grade: All Ages
~ Cost: Free
~ Platform: iphone, ipod touch, or ipad

2. Introduction:
Using the app Evernote, you can write as many notes as you want without using any paper. Evernotes doesn’t save just notes, though. It also manages any pictures, voice recordings, or locations that you put on it. Then, you can organize all these things by putting different tags on them, or sorting them into different notebooks. In my opinion, Evernote is a wonderful app that can be very useful to anybody, and everybody, who buys it.

3. Section 1 ~ Taking Notes:

To create a note on Evernote, you simply press a button, type what you want, then save. Other items, such as voice recordings, snapshots, and locations, can all attached to a note. These items will then appear at the bottom of the screen when you look at the note. Once you are finished, you can organize your note by either put tags on it or placing it in different notebooks.

Section 2 ~ Pictures:

When adding pictures to a note, you have two choices. To take a picture on the spot, you press “Snapshot”, then take the picture. Another option you have is to use an existing picture from your photo library. You do this by pressing “Camera Roll”, then selecting the picture you want. This feature of Evernote can be useful for taking a picture of thing such as the cover of a book you want to remember to buy, or keeping a picture that you want to show to a friend.

Section 3 ~ Voice Recordings:

Voice recordings are one of the optional things that can be attached to a note. While you are editing a note, you tap the icon that says “Voice” to begin the recording. To end it, you simply press that button again. Once you have finished the recording, an icon will appear beneath your text, and will play back for you if you press it.

Section 4 ~ Tags:
I find that a very helpful way to organize notes is to put different tags on them. To tag a note, you press the button labeled “Tags”. Next, you select the tags you want and then press “Done”. Later, you can go back and view the notes that have a certain tag on them. This makes trying to find a certain note much easier.

Section 5 ~ Searching:
The search option is another feature of Evernote that lets you find notes you have created quickly and easily. To search something, you tap the space on the top of the page then type in what you want to find, using the pop-up keyboard. The results of your search then appear beneath whatever you have typed.

4. Price:
Evernote is a free app.

5. Conclusion:
I really like the app Evernote. It is very useful and easy to use. I especially liked that you can attach pictures and voice recordings to a note, because I think that’s really cool, and can be very useful. I don’t have any complaints about this app. I think it’s great, and it will be very useful to anybody who buys it.
