    Sometimes people feel like drawing.  There is an inconvenience with wanting to draw because most people don’t carry copy paper and markers with them throughout the day, or they don’t have the space the draw. The app Doodle Buddy allows you to draw whenever you feel like it!  You don’t even need internet connection!  Doodle Buddy allows you to draw and color with touch of your fingertip!  I will be reviewing the iPod touch/ iPhone version of this app.

2.   The game is separated into four sections: draw, stamp, background, and settings.  When you first open the app, you can choose to draw by yourself, or draw with someone else using internet connection.  You start with a white screen, which you can change in the background section.

The drawing section has a variety of tools.  It has a color chart where you can slide a circle to choose the color that you would like to draw with.   There is a brush, chalk piece, smudge tool, extras button that connects you to an online store, and an eraser.  You can also change the size of the drawing tool.

The brush is a smooth stroke of color.  The chalk is a series of dots in a circle of a certain color.  To use the smudge tool, you draw something, and then rub the smudge tool over your drawing.  There is also an eraser which you just rub over whatever you drew to erase it.

Another section of the app is the stamp section.  You can choose from a variety of stamps in two sizes.  You can make a text box as well as color in coloring stencils.  There is also a button that leads you to the extras section.

This is the backgrounds page.  From here, you can choose from a variety backgrounds.  You can also use photos that you have taken, as well as accessing your camera so that you can take a picture.  Also, you can access the extras page from here.

Doodle Buddy is a free app.

Doodle Buddy is a great drawing tool/game for all ages.  A suggestion for improvement would be to have button to automatically erase the entire drawing, not to shake the device.  It has many different features that allow the drawer to be creative. I really enjoy the app and I’m sure anyone who gets the app will enjoy it too!
