My students are using two fantastic apps for uploading photos and pictures from their iPads to put on their blogs. If a student gets a photo on their iPad or draws a picture here are two apps for them to upload:
The Photobucket app is fantastic! It's free and creating accounts are free. Students just log in to their account (I created one class account for everyone and it's been just fine), and upload photos or pictures directly from the iPad photo library. Once your photo or picture is uploaded you have different ways to share it. We just copy the direct link to the photo or picture and students put that link on their blog! Very convenient and just what we needed.
FTPViewApp, free as well, (not to be confused with FPTView) is also great and my personal favorite of the two. The reason I actually prefer this one to Photobucket is because you get to use your own FTP server account. You might be thinking that Photobucket is the better choice because you just create an account but for me I'd much rather have my pictures on my own server because I pay for a hosting service and I have unlimited space. If I didn't have that I'd have to use Photobucket and it does work well. But for those of us who have a hosting service and we have FTP setup, this app is great. I have an account for my students divided up by period and by team. So each team has a folder on my server unlike Photobucket where all photos are on the one account. They login and upload the pictures. The hard part is that I have to provide the URL for them because unlike Photobucket FTPViewApp doesn't have a sharing feature. It's just an FTP app that allows you to transfer files to and from your iPad to your server.
