What you are going to read next is the exact dictation, obviously unedited, from my blabbering on the way home from school today using Dragon Dictation, a free app for the iPhone.  Following the dictation are a few of my thoughts on this app – which is apparently only free for a limited time.

this blog post was originally recorded using the new dragon dictation iPhone app testing it out for the first time and on my ride home from school today I am I’m recording and going to see if it’ll work for a blog post I was thinking about this application for a little while today and thinking about the educational benefits of it obviously it means that there are a lot of benefits from this I can see using this with a number of different students in my building to help them with the writing proficiency is certainly going to have to be a lot of editing that needs to be done up With Asian punctuation things like that but that in itself is not so good skill that students need help him I have no idea how long this post is going to be at no idea I don’t know how did it turn out but I need to get the staff I can see a lot of benefits from her educational standpoint I can also see a lot of benefits of it personally I tried my wife would love to record a few things up so that I have them written down in that she can provide me with an eye for the honey do list to do so anyway I do not listen to turn out DO a lot of cutting and pasting and editing but I thought I’d give it a try

I tried this app for the first time today after hearing the buzz about it on Twitter.  I have seen, but not used any dictation software before, so I really didn’t know what to expect.  I was not familiar with this program on the computer, but heard great things on Twitter so I thought I would try it out.  As you can tell from the paragraph above, the dictation was pretty accurate.  With that being said, my daughter tried using the program at home with less accuracy than me.  Of course, there is no punctuation or capitalization in the dictation, but I can deal with that.  One thing I learned is that I had a hard time delivering my thoughts in a clear and accurate manner without repeating myself or babbling.  However, emailing the dictation is extremely easy within the app.  After sending it to myself, I simply opened my email, cut and pasted the paragraph, and started editing.  I found this app to be very easy to use – I’d highly recommend it.
