Happy New Year ... The IEAR Wish List for 2011

IEAR had a great 2010.  We saw the growth of our community to almost 800 members of the NING, over 40 app reviewers and bloggers, and the Twitter #iear hashtag get used on a regular basis. We have two separate podcasts with IEAR having 12 shows and the new IEAR Android podcast with 1. There is so much more to come!

Here are our needs for the new year to sustain our momentum and growth. These positions are all volunteer of course and we know that your time is valuable.

Email Scott Meech if you are interested ... Scott@IEAR.org

1.  New Blogger / App Reviewer Coordinator(s):  This person will keep an eye on the form for those that are interested in doing app reviews.  They will confirm the app reviewers as teachers, set up their blog accounts, and get them access to the key tools needed to do reviews.

2.  Podcasters:  We would like to encourage someone to host a 15 to 30 minute podcast once a week that would simply be a round table discussion of apps.  You can choose your guests.

3.  Student App Reviewer Coordinator:  We would love to have someone volunteer to monitor the list of requests to do student reviews.  They will create the needed accounts and highlight the student entries as they increase. Addiitionally, this person would coordinate the sharing of student work.

4.  Tag and Category Organizer:  Would you be willing to go into the IEAR blog and clean up the tags and categories?

5.  Database of App Reviews:  Would you be willing to monitor and clean up the list of apps that are talked about on IEAR?

6. App Developer Relations:  We would really like to have someone who would be willing to send emails to the app developers to keep them up to date when their app has been mentioned in IEAR.

7. More App Reviewers:  http://www.iear.org/iear/2010/3/5/app-reviewers-wanted.html

... Don't forget ... There isn't any advertising on the website that brings in any income. We are completely volunteer.  LanSchool's EdApp logo on the NING pays for the NING and the Mobile2011.org mention on the blog is simply because we think this is a great event for people to know about.

*** If you have a creative idea on how you want to help IEAR, just let us know!

Finally ... We really want to continue to encourage IEAR community members to do IEAR presentations at conferences.  Here are two templates for you to think about using.  Do the presentation in any way you want.  This is just about expanding the discussion and to add to the community as a whole.

The best walk through app out there by far is App Start. AppStart is a new iPad app available in the App Store for $.99 cents, The Direct Link to the app in the app store.
